How To Crochet A Headband (courtesy of Threadbanger.com) Hey everyone! Welcome to this week’s project! So, a lot of you have been requesting an easy To make this headband, you’re gonna need some yarn and a size 10 crochet hook. Start by making a slip knot and tying it around your hook. Then, make a crochet chain by making a simple chain stitch. This chain is 62 stitches long. Now, you’re gonna stitch your first row. Put your hook in the first stitch, and do a single crochet. Do this all the way, until you reach the end of your chain, Make sure to get that last stitch, turn your work over and put your hook in the first stitch. And again, do single crochets to complete another row. Repeat this process til you’ve done about 11 rows, or whatever width you want. When you’re done crocheting, pull the yarn to create a large loop, then snip the yarn and pull it all the way through that last stitch. Now, put the 2 ends of your work together and attach them by weaving the long tail you’ve created in and out of each side. When you reach the end, tie the 2 yarn tails together and weave them into the band so you can’t see them anymore. You can leave your band plain, add a broach, or give it to a friend. You can also adorn it with a crocheted bow. Do 25 chain stitches, and crochet 11 rows. Fold your work in half, and connect your work by weaving the long yarn tail all the way down the side. Pull the tail together that side, and tie the 2 yarn tails together to secure. Repeat for the 2nd side of the bow, and tie the 2 pieces together. Then, connect that whole piece to the headband. Do this by tying it to the band with the yarn tails, then weave the remaining parts of the tails through the band. I put my bow on at an angle! Next, do a chain stitch with 10 stitches, and crochet 5 rows. Attach that square in the middle of the bow, again by tying and weaving the tails. And, you’ve completed a cute bow adornment for your headband! For the last style, I’m taking a cue from Dionne Von Furstenberg and John Galliano by adding some pom poms! Simply cut out 2 cardboard rings, place them together, and cut a long piece of yarn. Tie one end to the side of the rings, and wrap your yarn around the rings. Do about 2 layers. Then, cut the yarn apart along the edge of the rings. Now, cut a piece of yarn from the same as you used for the band, and tie tie pom pom together in the middle of the rings. Then, simply push the pom pom through the hole. Attach it to the headband the same way you did the bow. Add a couple more, and you are finito! There’s many ways to adorn this winter headband – get creative!
